"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat. "

- Albert Einstein, explaining radio

ACTIVITY @ GM7NVA

2009-10

Work bench with 2 Racal RA17's having product detectors built in.

Colin MM1APS in the shack checking a Racal RA17 Mk2

Wanted...more space for the ops seat ;-(

Top left is mainly aeronautical rx while below lives top band and 6 meter tx systems. To the right is mainly HF tx. Not in view are, many receivers linked through combiners to low dipoles (AR88, RA17's,Marconi Atalanta, HRO, Eddystone 730/4's, an GEC BRT400E and a Hammarlund HQ180. We like to listen ;-)

2 Racal RA17's in their pod. These are almost permanently on tuned to HF 'SAR' day and night frequencies. The AR88 seems particularly fond of the sound of the German language.

Protect your antennas and front ends!. Keep an eye on this storm radar for lightening strikes.

 A Simple Thought.

Perhaps the reason that we are alone, is simply because, we are not ready!

If you were an alien or a spiritual entity, would you make contact with a civilisation on the other side of space that conducts itself as badly as we do on Earth!

You would only have to monitor the combined output of human world broadcasting, TV and Radio, to know if our civilisation was ready to take the next step or not.

Remember...the first radio broadcasts and television pictures made on this planet, have yet to arrive at the fringes of our Galaxy. We have a long wait!

When we are ready, somewhere out there, we will be received!
