In the search for a good DX receiver... this Drake
line-up was brought in in 2004. It has real nice audio and has
a very quiet receiver. (l-R MS7 Speaker- RV7 Remote VFO and on
the bottom the PS7 Power Supply.)
The Drake PS7
I found the Drake to be an excellent receiver for Dx
although like many older radio equipment, it did not have the
advantage of the modern top radios using DSP processing. However,
comparing it to a Collins KWM and a new FT-1000mp Mk5 with out
it's clever tricks, all the radios compared well. The Collins
and The Drake had less system noise on receive.
